Pointer’s Cliff
Big city with approximatly 90.000 inhabitants. The city is devided in three districts. The king’s district, the priest’s district and the people district. Around the city is a 6 meter high wall with watchtowers. The walls in the city are 5 meters high and also have watchtowers. The city has a very good sewerage system. Every week it's being cleansed bij the wizards. On certain points there are public wells and there are public baths. The king wants to build a hospital and he is still discussing this with the priesthood.
Outside the city is an elfendistrict. Two brothers with there families take care of that. There are all elfendwellings and the are free to use. No locks but sosial control is the keyword. The elfes in the kingdom take care of the forrests. They are also the kings rangers in time of strife.
The harbor is made bij the wizards and because of the continual magic, there is a small pull to the sea to keep the harbour clean. Because of the currents, it's relatively easy for ships to enter and leave the harbour. The dept of the harbour gives big ships the chance to moor. It's a big trading harbour and because of it's size, that's possible.
The King’s District
The king’s district is stationed in front of the king’s bridge and the wizard’s bridge. There’s one wizards gild. Here the rich and famouse live in big houses surrounded with high walls to shield there gardens for privacy. In this section are no stores, but it has a most exclusive diner and men’s club. To enter this district, you must have papers to show you have acces. To get such u pass, you must ask one in the Gouvernemts building. Only priests have free acces with there holy symbol.
King Martanomis Ulinum is the last king. He and his wife Leonora Garina have only 5 daughters and they can’t get the throne unless the law is changed. The oldest is Harami, she’s 12 years old and will merry in 3 years. Than comes Loraina, she is 10 years old. The next is Catherina, she’s 7 years old. Marionin is the next and is 4 years old. The last is Thaniorin, she’s only two years old. The king is not happy that his eldes nephew will take the throne after his death. Because of this, young Gravinor (9 years old) is living with his uncles children to learn the same things. His father arranged this. It is possible that the one that married the eldest daughter of the king, can become king. But he has to get the counsel behind him to vote for his ellection.
The Priests District
The priests district is on the other side of the harbour and holds all the shrines for the faithfull. All believes are welcome and finding a shrine to your liking should be easy there. Here the big library houses on the island. Here are also no stores and only priests and accolites may live in this section.
The People District
The people section houses the middle class and here are plenty of stores and shops. Also a large market and the gildhouses for the different gilds for the crafts. It also houses e big governmentbuilding where there is a large audience room for the king and advisers.
Wizards Gild
To be accepted you need to pass a test. That test, gives you the right to wear wizardsrobes in Pointer’s Cliff. Thtey have 3 sections. One, the darker side of wizardry wears black robes. The most sincere wizards wear white robes and the neutral section wears blue robes. Wizards from other countries need to get permission from the King to use there magic. Forreign wizards need a wizards badge to show that they are not from here. Any wizard not doing this, will be caught and stript of its magical abilities.
The Priests
Mystra is the most common and has the Priests island as there residence. Other believes are tolerated and have there own temples in the priests section of the city. In the island is the big library. It’s use is free for all the priests and wizards in the city. They have also a section free for public.
The Library
This is a tower of 4 stories high and has 5 basements. Ground level is for public. The three floors up ar for wizards and the first 3 basementfloors are for the priests. The fourth basementfloor is for the king and his documentation. The fifth floor is a myth and should contain rare magical volumes of magic.
Thieves Gilds
Pointer’s Cliff has four thieves Guilds. They vary in honesty, but they have one thing in common, don’t let another gild in the city. And keep the thieves lives secret. THey will turn together on every thief not registered in a gild book. The four gilds are the Masks, the Flowers, the Daggers and the Pockets.
The Masks are led by the head priest of Mask in Pointer’s Cliff. He is the only priest from Mask in the city, and all the thieves in his guild are picked by Mask. The Masks only task is to give thieves guidence, not competition. he has aproximatly 20 thieves in his book. They take care of the shrine of Mask. The gilds symbol is a black mask. All members have a tattoo of that mask on there chest just below the neckline of the clothes they wear. they are the only one that has no borders in the city. They are free to roam the city.
The Flowers are known to use poisen when encountered. This is the largest gild and is known for smuggeling drugs. The have a lot of brothels and alehouses were they sell the stuff. The gilds symbol is a French lily tattood on the inside of the left wrist. The colours of the petals indicates the ranking of the member.
The Daggers have lines with one of the assasinsgilds. Wich one, is not known to people outside both gilds. They are also known for there ties with the king. It is suspected that the daggers are regularly hired by the king, but there is no proof of this. It’s one of the smallest gilds and there hatred for drugs is known. No member of the gild uses drugs. Using means exit gild and most of the time also very dead. The symbol of the gild is a dagger tattood on the left hip.
The Pockets are all pick pocketters.. They work mostly on the markets and the busy crowds and crosses the boarders often, but because they make not so much profit as the other gilds, it’s tolerated. The gilds symbol is a pouche tattood on there left wrist.
The Assassins Guild
This the most secretive guild and is roemerd to exist. No one has ever seen a member alive.
Het avontuur van onze spelers...
Onze pocket priester verblijft al enige tijd in deze stad. Hij heeft de mooie routine opgebouwd om na het ochtendgebed en ontbijt te helpen in het armste deel van de stad met het genezen van de allerarmste. De gelover van Vhaureun (Masked Rose) is als afgezant van zijn vader in de stad. Hij is door zijn vader vooruitgeschoven om een verbond met een dievenbende aan te gaan. De shwashbuckler Avion leeft gelukkig in het bos met zijn vrouw en tweeling. Ze hebben het goed samen totdat op een dag de kinderen ontvoerd worden. Het enigste wat ze vinden is een briefje met een Franse lelie er op. Hij wordt door zijn vrouw naar Pointer's Cliff gestuurd om de kinderen te zoeken. Dat is voor hen de dichtstbijzijnde stad. De elfenarcher Maivin wordt door de avatar van Ellistrea naar Pointer's Cliff gestuurd, omdat daar de persoon zich bevindt die bekeerd, of omgelegd moet worden. Dan onze twee ninja's die worden met een brief naar de koning van Pointer's Cliff gestuurd, om samenwerking met de koning te krijgen. Nu hebben we iedereen wel gehad denk ik?
Wat is er dan gebeurd in de eerste sessie?
De spelers zijn geïntroduceerd in deze grote stad. Masked Rose heeft te horen gekregen dat zijn vader is vermoord nadat hij contact met het dievengilde heeft gelegd.
Avion heeft een spoor van zijn kinderen gevonden. Hij heeft zich bekent gemaakt bij een dievengilde. Deze blijkt alleen dezelfde te zijn als de ontvoerders van zijn kinderen. Tijdens zijn verblijf in een van de inns, krijgt hij bloemen. Eerst een zonnebloem en vervolgens een Franse lelie. De eigenaar wil hem eigenlijk nu wel snel kwijt. Die houdt niet van nachtelijke bezoeken.
De twee ninja's hebben contact gelegd met de koning en een heeft zelfs een pas gekregen om Kings District in te komen. Zij moeten voor hun clan een ambassade gaan opzetten in de stad.
Maivin is op weg naar de stad na te hebben overnacht in de elfenonderkomens. Hij komt een jachtpartij tegen die bestaat uit de oudste dochters van de koning en de kroonprins. Door vriendschap te sluiten met de oudste dochter van de koning, krijgt ook zij toegang tot Kings District en wordt ze sindsdien regelmatig in het paleis gezien.
De priester heeft hinky dingen gespot in de haven. Ze hebben onderling al contact met elkaar gelegd, behalve Maivin. Die is er nog niet bij betrokken. Nadat hij dit geconstateerd heeft, is hij samen met Avion en de twee ninja's het riool in gegaan. Daar zijn ze op zes dieven gestuit. Twee zijn er vandoor gegaan, en de andere vier dobberen nu waarschijnlijk in de haven. Na nog meer hinky dingen in de haven te hebben gezien, gaat de pocket priester op onderzoek uit. Hij volgt een wagen met een katoenbaal naar een schuur in de stad. Daar hoort hij kinderen en ziet dat ze wapens uit de balen halen zodat er een lege ruimte overblijft waar ze wat anders de stad mee uit kunnen smokkelen. Die nacht gaan de priester en twee ninja's daar op onderzoek uit. Wat ze vinden (of liever gezegd niet vinden) is verontrustend. De schuur blijkt leeg te zijn. Ook is er een kelder waar ringen in de muur zitten waar waarschijnlijk mensen aan vast hebben gezeten. De priester gaat als de bliksem naar de haven en daar ziet hij nog net een driemaster de haven uit varen.......
